Curcuma (Curcuma longa), also known as Indian saffron, is a popular spice plant originating from South Asia, most commonly found in powdered form. It shines not only as a characteristic ingredient of curries and other South Asian dishes but has also played a role in Ayurveda for centuries. Its golden-yellow color and distinctive taste are given by the polyphenol curcumin found in the rhizome.

Curcumins are poorly absorbed and enter the bloodstream with difficulty, due in part to the low water solubility of curcumins. The NovaSol® technology bridges this problem.
